Yerevan proudly hosted the 2025 CEV U16 Men's Volleyball European Championship, bringing together 16 of the continent’s most talented youth national teams. The tournament, held across two venues—the Gazprom Armenia Training Complex and the Russian-Armenian University—concluded with a thrilling display of world-class youth volleyball.
In a highly competitive final, Italy showcased their dominance by defeating Spain 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 25-19) to claim their third European title in this age category. Spain took home the silver medal after an impressive run, while France secured the bronze with a 3-1 victory over Poland in the third-place match.
The final standings were:
- 🥇 Champions: Italy
- 🥈 2nd Place: Spain
- 🥉 3rd Place: France
- 4th Place: Poland
The awarding ceremony featured Hasmik Avagyan, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, and Karen Asmaryan, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia.
Mr. Asmaryan praised the event's organization, noting: "We hosted one of the brightest European championships, with excellent infrastructure and high-quality broadcasts. This is a significant milestone for volleyball in Armenia."
For the young Armenian national team, participating in such a prestigious home tournament provided invaluable international experience and a strong foundation for the future of the sport in the country.
