From November 19th to 24th, the city of Telavi, Georgia, hosted the first round of the CEV U18 Girls' Volleyball European Championship. Among the competing nations was the Armenia U18 national team, marking a historic moment for the country’s youth volleyball program.
While the Armenian squad did not secure a victory against their opponents, the young athletes demonstrated remarkable spirit and resilience. Competing against some of the continent's strongest and most experienced teams, our girls proved they could hold their own in high-pressure rallies and maintain a competitive fight throughout the tournament.
This event marked the first time an Armenian team has participated in a championship of such elite caliber. The Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) remains optimistic about the future; under the leadership of head coach Hayk Baghramyan, the federation is confident that this experience will pave the way for successes and victories in the near future.
Armenia was also represented in the officiating core by high-ranking national referee Hovhannes Asmaryan. Additionally, VFA General Secretary Karen Asmaryan attended the championship and participated in the official award ceremony.
